Terms of Service
Version: April 2026 · Effective immediately
1. Scope
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Code:Sniper (the “Service”), an automated source-code security scanner. The Service is developed and operated by greenhats GmbH (“we” or “Provider”). By registering for or accessing the Service, the user agrees to these Terms as well as the general Terms of Service of greenhats GmbH.
2. Description of the Service
Code:Sniper provides AI-assisted security analysis for uploaded source-code files and projects. The Service produces automated reports based on heuristics, static analysis and large-language-model agents.
Results are intended as guidance and orientation. They do not replace a manual security review by qualified professionals and do not constitute a certification or warranty of code quality.
3. Availability of the Service
We aim for the highest possible availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be modified, restricted, temporarily suspended or permanently discontinued at any time without prior notice - in particular for maintenance, infrastructure updates or operational reasons.
Planned maintenance windows will be announced via the application or by email where reasonably possible. There is no entitlement to compensation in the event of outages.
4. Fair-Use Policy and Credits
The Service is subject to a fair-use policy. Users whose usage substantially exceeds the average usage of comparable users may have their access throttled, paused or revoked without prior notice - regardless of the selected plan.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following behaviour:
- Mass or automated uploads within short time periods
- Use via API bots or scripts without prior written approval
- Circumventing scan limits by creating multiple accounts
- Uploads that are evidently not intended for security analysis
We reserve the right to adjust credit and scan limits at any time and to modify existing plans with reasonable notice. Users will be informed by email about material changes.
5. Uploaded Content
The user remains the owner of all uploaded source code. The user warrants that they hold the necessary rights to analyse the code and that uploading it does not infringe any third-party rights.
Uploaded files are processed exclusively for the purpose of security analysis and are not shared with third parties. Analysis results may be used in anonymised form for quality-assurance and model-improvement purposes.
6. Prohibited Use
The Service must not be used to:
- Analyse or optimise malware, exploits or other harmful code
- Test third-party security infrastructure without their consent
- Use the Service itself as an attack target
- Violate applicable law
In the event of violations we are entitled to suspend the account without prior notice and without refund of any credits already paid for.
7. Payment and Refunds
For paid plans, the prices displayed at the time of booking apply. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the term. Cancellation is possible at any time with effect from the end of the current billing period.
Credits already used are non-refundable. In the event of a technically caused outage of the Service for more than 72 hours within a single billing month, we will review pro-rated credits on request on a case-by-case basis - there is no legal entitlement to such credits.
8. Limitation of Liability
Code:Sniper is provided “as is”. We accept no liability for damages arising from the use or non-use of the Service, in particular not for damages caused by incomplete or inaccurate analysis results, security incidents that occur despite or after an analysis, or data loss as a result of system issues.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to intent and gross negligence and is capped in amount at the total amount actually paid by the user in the preceding 12 months.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days before taking effect by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect is deemed acceptance.
10. Final Provisions
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of jurisdiction, to the extent permitted by law, is the registered seat of the Provider.
Should individual provisions of these Terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
The general Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy of greenhats GmbH apply in addition.
